• Low environmental impact: Bamboo requires significantly less water, no pesticides, and no fertilizers to grow, reducing its environmental footprint compared to traditional wood pulp.

• Biodiversity and soil health: Bamboo plantations promote biodiversity and improve soil health. They absorb more carbon dioxide and release more oxygen than equivalent stands of trees.

• No deforestation: Choosing bamboo helps prevent deforestation, a critical factor in preserving natural habitats and ecosystems.

The bamboo we use comes from the Sichuan province of China, where it grows naturally in abundance, without the use of chemical insecticides, pesticides or fertilisers. Our white paper is bleached using a mix of oxygen and hydrogen peroxide, in a process that is totally chlorine free (TCF), and is generally considered one of the most environmentally safe ways to bleach paper.

Our cartons are made from recycled paper and printed with sustainable inks. All packaging is fully recyclable and compostable (although we would always encourage you to reuse packaging as much as possible before choosing one of these options).

Our rolls are manufactured close to where the raw bamboo material is sourced in China, and we ship by sea freight to the UK. Sea freight is recognised as one of the most carbon efficient methods of transport available - up to 10 times more efficient than road freight.
